Dr. Lisa Torres, PhD, CA LMFT, AAMFT Approved Supervisor will provide an in-depth exploration of trauma-informed approaches within the context of clinical supervision. Designed for mental health professionals, this course aims to enhance supervisors' understanding and application of trauma-informed principles to support supervisees effectively. Participants will gain knowledge about the impact of trauma on both clients and clinicians, and how to foster a safe, supportive, and empowering supervisory environment.

By the end of the course participants will be able to:
Explain at least three ways trauma affects clients and clinicians.
Identify and describe the six key principles of trauma-informed care.
Create a trauma-informed supervision plan that includes at least three specific strategies for incorporating safety, trustworthiness, and empowerment.
Utilize at least three effective communication and feedback techniques in role-playing exercises and supervision sessions.
Identify and discuss at least two ethical dilemmas and cultural considerations in trauma-informed supervision.
Certificates
Course Completion certificates will be awarded at the end of the course in exchange for a completed evaluation form.
Course meets the qualifications for 6 hours of continuing education credit for LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s and LEP’s as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
