About Eugene
AMFT 146305
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who graduated from Palo Alto University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My first foray into the field of mental health was back in 2017 as a family specialist and transitioned into the role of psychotherapist in 2022. Throughout, I’ve served a wide range of clientele of different cultural backgrounds from youth, teens, young adults, and parents. I specialize in working with Asian-Americans and LGBTQIA+ teens and young adults, providing support ranging from stress management, anxiety, depression, acculturation, and navigating emerging identities.
I take a client-centered approach to therapy and provide LGBTQIA+ and trans-affirming services to my clients. While I take an integrative approach to therapy, modalities I frequently incorporate include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Informed Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. I aim to provide clients not only with coping and management skills, but also to empower and build resilience. Each therapeutic relationship is individualized to help my client improve their relationships with others, their environment, and themselves.
My personal philosophy is that each person is a complete being seeking connection with others. Our identities, intersections, and personal histories help shape who we are but we are more than the sum of these parts and they do not conclusively define us. The world can be a challenging place to be in especially in recent times and we learn to protect ourselves in any way we can which can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected. Therapy, with the right therapist, is where we can unpack our baggage, take off our armor, and deepen our connections to ourselves and others.
Let’s talk and see if we are a good fit together.
